Chris P90x Workout Reviews: Day 14

Day 14: Rest

Once again I failed to do the stretching video, I know I need to kick my butt into gear, but by Sunday I always feel I have earned a day off. It is also much easier to justify skipping stretching since muscle mass and weight gain are my main goals, while flexibility is a bit farther down the list. I need to make sure I do it next week though.

After week two I have definitely noticed improvement. I was a lot less sore throughout the week, although I could still feel it everyday. I was also able to follow the videos with heavier weights and better form. Two weeks down 11 more to go! Move out of the way Tony here I come!

    Chris,

Thanks for sharing your progress. I am excited for you! However, I would certainly encourage you to take a different approach to “stretching”.

Stretching is essential for maximum muscle mass and ultimate weight gain, but more importantly it is essential to make sure you don’t have an injury. Without stretching, your muscles might not repair themselves correctly and you take a big chance on straining your ligaments and tendons to the point of tearing, causing you to stop exercising until your body is healed again.

Flexibility will actually improve the speed at which you progress and enhance your muscle growth.

Give stretching a little more credit and it will give you more results. Promise.

    Gary R.
