Chelsea P90x Workout Reviews: Day 23

Day 23: Core Synergistics

Oh recovery week, how misleading you are. I thought you would allow for, well, recovery! but no recovery has been found yet. Core synergistics wasn’t as demanding as plyo, but man did my abs get a workout! Between bow to boat, and superman to banana, I was on fire! I better have abs o’ steel pretty darn soon here. I must admit though, that I am not as wiped as I usually am after this days’ workout. That is good though, because I have been a little under the weather for some time now. It’s nice to have some workouts that don’t completely fatigue me. I can still stay active and recover from an illness. Good combo in my book.
Looking forward to the rest of the ‘recovery’ week. I hear there is more yoga involved  :) stay focused!

    Hey there,

It appears that we’re both doing the program with the same goals in mind – to tone up the same problem areas. Since you’re starting point was about the same as mine (our body types look about the same, same starting weight) I was wondering what your caloric target is per day. I’ve been trying to stay between 1400 and 1600 but usually hover around 1400 just because I feel so full, but I’m starting to wonder if I need to be eating more.

    Thanks!

    Chelsea,

Just saw the day 22 pictures and wow! I think you set a new P90X record: ripped in 22 days.

    Good work.

    Jene,

You should definitely be eating more. I’m 5’5″ and weigh 127lbs. According to the p90x caloric needs calculator I need to aim for 2591 calories per day to maintain my weight, and 2091 to lose wight. I know it seems like a lot and it is hard to get used to consuming that much food in a day. I find it easier to eat constantly as the day goes on, rather than trying to consume everything in 3 meals. This also helps keep my metabolism up throughout the day because it doesn’t have time to go into starvation mode. I sent you an email with more information. 🙂
