Chris P90x Workout Reviews: Day 1 w/ pics

Day 1: Chest and back, Ab Ripper X

Today was definitely a wake-up call; I knew I was out of shape, but not this out of shape! I started off with the push-ups and went right to 20 reps… big mistake. By the second half of the video I was not only cheating by doing push-ups on my knees, I was not even able to finish 10 cheater reps of all of the push-up exercises. The “diamond” push-ups definitely abused me the most. I am also extremely poor at pull-ups, these were my first pull-up attempts in at least five years. I could only do 2-3 close grip chin-ups (The easiest ones) before I had to cheat and use my legs to help. By the end of the video my arms and chest were 100% exhausted and raising them above my waist was a chore. I can tell I will definitely feel this tomorrow. When the Ab Ripper X portion of the video started I instantly noticed that it was only 15 minutes and breathed a sigh of relief. The relaxing sigh was short lived because Ab Ripper is intense! I found a lot of the exercises to not only be tough on my abs but also on my hip flexor area and quads area.

Overall it was definitely a rough rude awakening but that also means I have lots of room for improvement, I am definitely excited to see where the P90x workout will take me.
